ESC and FlipSid3 have won their elimination matches against Planetkey Dynamics and myXMG to stay alive at DreamHack Winter. ESC Gaming had a lengthy break coming into their second match at DreamHack as they had played the group's opener, where they were defeated by LDLC 4-16. Against Planetkey Dynamics they started off very well on de_mirage's terrorist side - the much harder half of the two - and managed to score nine rounds. Heavily favored to then close out the match and survive elimination in Jönköping, ESC were able to close the game out 16-13 after a struggle-filled 7-7 defensive half. DreamHack Winter 2014Best of 1 In the second match Last Call qualifier runner-ups FlipSid3 Tactics took on Danish myXMG, also on the same map as the other match - de_mirage, as drawn randomly after vetos. Despite a lackluster defensive half with only seven round wins, the Swedes mounted an impressive comeback, culminating in nine round wins for a 16-11 scoreline. DreamHack Winter 2014Best of 1 ESC will now go on to face NiP in the game to decide who advanced from group C, while FlipSid3 will have to go through Na`Vi if they wish to remain in the tournament. |
